I know it has been a while since I last posted. About two months ago I was given not one, but two other churches! So for those who are keeping track, that gives me 3 churches. I have been kept very busy to say the least.
I often wonder, “why am I doing this?” With three churches, meetings to attend, people to visit, sermons to write, ministries to facilitate, I often wonder how I am able to keep up with it all. A few weeks into this 3 point charge, I began feeling a little overwhelmed. It so happened that I then “stumbled” across this verse. I was reading through 1 Chronicles when I read ”For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” (1 Chronicles 16:9) What an inspiration to know that God SEARCHES the whole earth for someone to encourage, comfort and reassure! It’s not as though God sits off in heaven, looking down on us, thinking “wow what a mess that poor pastor is in”, waiting for us to cry out for help. No! Our God is not like this! Instead He comes to us, searches for us. When we have given Him our all; when we have given our life to Him, He strongly supports us. Can you imagine? The creator of the universe, looking the world over, in order to provide for His children. When I dwell on this, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed? Do you feel like your at your wits end? Are you feeling the stresses of life wearing you down? First, give it all (including yourself) to God. Then rest in the fact that God will search you out to support you.
You have 3 churches right now? Crazy. Where are the other two?
Yes… nothing better than a 3 point charge. I also have Amsden and Rehobeth Churches. Both of them are between us and Fostoria. This is a “trial” and will be re-evaluated in January.
